The Ford is fantastic value for money. Sit in the cabin and you'll soon see where a lot of money has been saved. It feels really cheap, too cheap.

None of the German cars score well in reliability surveys. You sometimes need to read these surveys as they use really stage methods of gaining their results.

Then again most surveys are only done with a tiny percentage of customers. It's so small you can get very twisted results. If you've bought a premium brand car, you expect a bit more. When it falls short of that, you're far more likely to complain.

I didn't realise that the M235i had many issues. I've not really read too much to worry about other than the auto box.

Having already read about lots of Mustang build quality issues, reliability issue and one bursting into flames, I'm confident that the M235i will trounce the Mustang in longterm reliability.

Not a fan of the new mustang- very plain and doesn't look anything special for the amount of money it costs and poor quality interior/exterior
A guy round the corner from me has the 2.3 litre model and he got it imported from America and must have cost him best part of 45k!!

I quite like the idea of a V8 Mustang complete with LSD. My only reservation is that it's rather heavy and I know next to nothing about them. An E90 M3 would probably suit me better.

If they imported the GT350R I'd certainly give it a look. For 65K USD you get a 526bhp natasp V8 that revs to 8250, carbon fibre wheels and magnetorheological dampers!

Try getting one in the US at the moment...$20k+ markup from dealers and a 2017 wait list apparently.

On a related topic, does anyone know the cost of importing a car from the US?

What are the charges that would need to be paid over here? Is there an import tax?

20% + IVA (or whatever the test for road worthiness is) + shipping I think.

Just had a look and there's 10% import tax plus 20% IVA to pay at customs. Makes me wonder how it's worth doing...
