Hi there. First time poster, so - hi!
I had my 2019 M140i serviced at a BMW main dealer today which I've owned for about 10 months or so. They just made a passing comment about not being able to update the software on the car because it would risk overwriting the remap. Well I had no idea the car had a remap...
The dealership was about to close and the service advisor was over from the Mini branch so she wasn't really comfortable giving me much information. I would ideally just like to get the car back to a stock set up. Is this a simpler process than going stage 1 in the first place, and would I be better off going back to the main dealer or somewhere that does remaps?
Any advice appreciated. Thanks!
Edit to add some detail: I have checked and the sports dials read 480hp and 640nm. I guess it's impossible to know for sure without a dyno, but to me it doesn't feel 400hp (or whatever a stage 1 tune would be). I have had a Cupra 300 before, for example, and I'd say the M140i feels faster, but not 100hp faster. It also is pretty civilised even when being pushed and I'd have expected 400hp and 600nm to be pretty lary. So not sure if it's even possible for it to have the stage 1 dials but still have stock power.
