Morning, is the problem solved with the knocking on the adapative..

I Will order a New m140i but without knocking noise.
Are is there a New suspension on the m140i

I hope to hear from New Owners.

Might be slightly O/T, but having spec'd non-adaptive on my M140i I would happily recommend not going for the adaptive.

My understanding that the non-adaptive is similar to the adaptive in sport, and thus the adaptive only gives you a choice of softening the suspension. The standard non-adaptive is fine and comfortable enough for everyday driving, and in fact the softer setting tends to make it more 'bouncy' and I didn't find it any more comfortable (although this was on a M135i LCI test drive)

For what it is worth, last week I test drive the M140i with passive dampers. All my M135i's have had adaptive dampers. Long story short, for me, adaptive dampers gives much better ride and handling during cornering and braking. The icing on the cake is that with Eibach springs the improvement are huge, and the adaptive dampers do indeed adapt perfectly.

Let's not forget the adaptive dampers are much more than a switch. Each damper is linked to and controlled by a microprocessor that takes in data such as the speed of each wheel, braking forces, cornering forces, steering input etc, and about 100 times a second adjust the damping to a calibrated ride profile. It's not the same as a passive adjustable damper. Don't confuse the two.

I think it's a bargain for ÂŁ515 and will be specifying it again, along with the Msport lowered springs* that come with modified secondary springs specifically designed by BMW to complement the adaptive dampers.

Cheers

Paul

I would hate to have to put up with sport the whole time. And I'd get earache from the missus. Adaptive all the way.
And buy a louder exhaust to drown her out :lol2:
LOL!

Yesterday I was at the Goodwood Revival, and never before have I wanted a loud exhaust. Until now!

By the way, the ride with the adaptive dampers is so good, to this day, my sweet wife has no idea that I have fitted Eibach springs.

I had adaptive on the M135i and now passive on the M235i. I found that it was nice to have the comfort option of the adaptive dampers, however compared to the passive setup it is somewhat under damped.

The passive setup does appear to be more predicable and better able to deal with bumpy roads when pressing on. The adaptive to me fails to be the best of both worlds and sacrifices some performance for comfort imo.
