Ok guys, my M135i is 4 weeks old and I have this discolouration on every wheel begin each spoke and in each wheelnut crevice... And no it's not just the light. I'm pretty pissed off. Has anyone else had this?!
See photos.

It's the poor paint job from the manufacturers.

I've a friend who works in purchasing at BMW HO in Munich and he says they buy the alloys at about €60 each.

Mine are far worse than that, I've barely any paint around the wheel bolts at all.

436m are cheap ****e wheels as Scrounger says. Heavy, soft, poorly finished, prone to chipping, etc. Just about good enough for winters if you mind the pots holes, imo.

Mine have been like that since day one - as stated its down to poor standards. They look to have been sprayed from a single direction hence why none of the crevices are evenly covered.

Well this is only just happened. It was perfect as I scrutinised the car before I drove away. I'm gonna keep being a stubborn - you know what - until the issue is sorted. New alloys are on their way to Stratstone as we speak.

Do you think it would be better to get them to agree to have them professionally refinished by a reputable company who would do a complete strip and respray? If you get replacement wheels they will probably do the same. I'd ask for someone like lepsons to do a proper paint finish at BMW expense. Not sure the would agree to this though.....

Other option could be to ask them to change the wheels for a different design maybe 461m as same size, again not sure what they would agree to!

And I'll also be ridiculously stubborn about them. £38k car and they can't evenly spray the wheels

Good luck with that. It's the same in the 3 and 4 series.

It's how they are.

Mine are the same and I agree it's not good enough. The wheels on my wife old Smart Fortwo and her current £10k SEAT mii are far better finished .

They've only bothered to paint half the wheel, they're all the same though. Have a look inside your wheel bolt recesses.
