Hi guys, I've noticed recently that when reversing on full lock to the left there's an odd knock from the front right wheel. It almost feels like I'm driving over a rock but it happens every time. A little hard to put it into words but does anyone have any idea what this might be?

Yes, cold tyres - get that regularly, even more so in this weather.

I get the knocking sound when reversing onto my drive in my 118d lci, and that is after being out in the car, so not with cold tyres :/

To be fair I've only noticed it in the cold so could be that, so is the opinion that I have nothing to worry about?

Both of mine have given me a lovely loud Ping! when reversing on full lock. I think it got worse after fitting the 245's on the front of this one.

Probably a combination of Ackerman Geo as Nick says, and a little toe-in forcing the wheels apart?

It's part of my morning routine, start car select reverse followed by the morning 'ping'!

Noticed mine does this when reversing off the drive too. Didn't have it with run flats but I guess it's cos they are rock hard?

Mine does it as well, i'd have been worried if my previous S3 didn't do it exactly the same at exactly the same point on the drive. I found with the S3 it was far better with new tyres, I assume because the tread was flexing rather than the wheel jumping to keep up.

The lower the traction surface the worse it is, wet concrete car parts being the worst.
