Hmm. I'd be tempted at that price, even if it just stops me bashing the front bumper up a curb again. Cheaper than the repaint!

But, it looks like 3k Carbon weave in the pics, but the description says fibreglass. And then it suggests you glue it on?

Keep me posted if you go for it?

cheers for the recommendations lads. here is the link for the development and production of my splitter. ive had a few texts saying the splitter has saved their front bumpers from massive rock to kerbs and the latest someone hit a deer! looks great and will save your bumper. more expensive than the fibreglass one but a lot stronger as its 10mm thick all the way through. get in touch via pm if you would like one.

I'll sell you a used gloss black Gazp splitter for £50. It can be collected from the side of the A956 in Aberdeen and comes in 10 to 15 pieces (assembly required)...

On another note - when the police arrived they told me that my car had the wrong reg plates on it and I had a fair bit of explaining to do - which I wasn't expecting! At least it was the right colour...

Just following a bin lorry round a roundabout (it was bucketing down rain), back end stepped out and I tried to correct it by turning in (to the left) only for the car to suddenly find grip - then a lamppost!

What mode and or speed were you doing
Sport and about 20. There's a new industrial estate getting built just off the roundabout and there's loads of gravel/grit and mud on the bits of the roundabout that don't get used that often - reckon I hit that to start the slide. If I'd not tried to correct it it probably would've 180'd in the road and been fine!

Been on since new - waiting on a call from the dealership manager. It was only 1 digit out but still had quite a tough time from the police over that and it was sheer luck that I had requested a settlement quote about a week earlier so had the letter with the incorrect reg number on it. Went home and properly checked the V5 and it has the correct reg number - as did my insurance bizarrely!

Nope. I drive a mountain Road every day to work and there are a couple of hairpin bends and even in the wet can travel 30 mph through them without any movement. If I accelerate hard though as I get around one then I can get the rear to swing which is great fun

I've had a few BMWs (as well as other cars) and it's the first time I've ever lost control. The 1er in particular just seems to feel glued to the road most of the time - unless as welly says you accelerate hard round a tight corner you can get a little wiggle. To say I was shocked when it let go would be an understatement!

Anyway - back on topic - get a splitter from Gaz (if he has any left). They're amazing quality, come with all the bits you need, instructions to fit (easy 15 minute job) and Gaz is a top bloke
