Lowering springs and adaptive suspension- ride quality?

I want to lower my m135i with Eibach pro lowering springs but wondering about the impact on ride quality.

After lowering does Comfort feel like Sport and Sport feel like a super hard ride for example?

Hoping someone can speak from experience!

I did exactly that a few years ago.

The front does become firmer, much like Sport as you suggest. That reduces the body roll and improves turn-in a little. 'Moose test' feels better.

The rear Pro springs have the exact same spring rate as the originals, so no massive change at the back (other than the drop in height) They won't initiate any negatives/po-go, same traction as before.

Any idea what lowering the car 25mm/20mm (motech stance) would be like going over speedbumps?

Got an m140i, hasn't got any of the splitters apart from a Rieger rear valance.
Had a Mk5 golf derv on coilovers a few years ago and that thing used to scrape.
Obviously was slightly lower than 25mm/20mm and depends on many variables like car load etc.

But just looking for any experiences with springs and any issues if you're not crawling over speedbumps.

Had my m140i done a few weeks ago and the ride quality and handling are much improved...I was on the verge of selling the car due to its awful ride but I'm happy now.

The m135i tho has soft rear springs as standard so you probably wouldn't find feel much difference in your ride if you went to the pros.

If comfort now feels like sport when using lowering springs is sport now unusable? I really like the difference in comfort and sport with adaptive but also want to get rid of the arch gap. I don't really want to heavily compromise what I have now with nice differences in usability between comfort and sport

I hope you're sitting down chaps...
"Hi Andy,

The labour time I have quoted is 5.5 hrs at ÂŁ80 per hour plus VAT which is book time for a brand new vehicle. I suspect the replacement will take in excess of 6 hours (without any seized bolts/fixings etc) therefore it really does not make sense us lowering our fitting price. It is the front axle that is so time consuming (4 + hrs).

The 4 wheel alignment cost has already been discounted from ÂŁ120 + VAT to ÂŁ80 + VAT in light of the work already being carried out."

So their quote doesn't even include parts!!! That's ÂŁ500+ on labour. Thanks PMW Chelmsford. I thought as specialists they wouldn't take forever as they'd know what they're doing!

I went for the MP option on adaptives - not as lowered at around 10-15mm but they are excellent - thoroughly recommended.

Price all in for MP Springs and fitted by local dealer including geo was circa ÂŁ750. Took a little bit of faffing around with my BMW dealer as they come in an MP kit including dampers - but got there in the end.

That's rather expensive. Sounds like they don't really want the job.

As far as I'm aware the eibach pro springs are the same for the passive and adaptive set up.

By the way,the 15mm rear and 12mm front spacers look brilliant, the rears aren't excessive at all.

Thanks for the pics. The 15mm spacers on the rear are definitely right looks wise. No rubbing I take it?

no rubbing whatsover, the eibachs are superior quality to the standard springs and improve the ride quality.

The spacers dont bring the tyres any closer to bodywork either, they just make the car look as it should have done in the first place.

I have just fitted eibach pro's on my m140i SE
It has the adaptive suspension and is sitting on 19" 624m with pirelli p zero runflats.

I have noticed no change whatsoever in the comfort department which I find weird. The car seems to turn in with more confidence but apart from that feels just like stock.

The drop on the front was just what I wanted. The back looks a little high at the moment but I'm hoping it may settle over the next week or so when I do some miles.

Paid ÂŁ150 from demon tweeks + ÂŁ80 fitting and I don't regret it. Looks nice
