Just fitted some new kidney grills to my 2015 M135i, bit less skin on the back of my hands but worth the effort don't you think.

I undid the Torx bits to release the front panel and pushed the top clips down with a screwdriver. I then pushed my hand through the slats and unclipped the ones located along the bottom, the new ones just push into place.
IHTH.

Don't mind you asking at all, they were an eBay purchase £85.00 and were delivered in two days.
Just do an eBay search for "twin slat kidney grills f20/f21"

Marco, I don't think Dave's Alan key trick works with the LCI grills.

I tried it on a pre LCI and you can't access the clips as shown as there is some bonnet trim in the way. Resorted to undoing the torx keys like most people.

I tried it on a pre LCI and you can't access the clips as shown as there is some bonnet trim in the way. Resorted to undoing the torx keys like most people.

The new style grills (LCI), show the tabs aren't accessible using the ALEN key method.

If you undo the Torx bolts and pull the front end forward the tabs can be pushed downwards with a flat blade screwdriver which will release the top three. You can then push your hand through the slats on the grills and release the side and bottom clips. Once one side has been removed the opposite is a doddle.

These look good - now just need the cuffs [mirror caps] and collars [grill sourrounds] to match !!!

Just fitted a set of these, they look great. I couldnt get the removal tool trick to work so also have a raw wrist but didnt damage the original grills too much.......

I was thinking about wrapping the lower silver grill surrounds in gloss black 3m 1080 but was going to leave the mirror caps as is.
