Hi everyone,

i have seen on here that some people have changed their interior dome light with the led ones from ebay but has anyone actually just changed the bulbs?
i have just bought a brand new 220d xdrive and it doesn't have the extended light package so just the dome in the middle and in the back.

i managed to change all the lights in my 1 series with led's but i don't want to start snapping bits and pieces off in the dome due to lack of knowledge of taking them out. any guides would be cool.

cheers :p

yeah not sure i have come across right, i would like to change the bulbs themselves rather than change the whole unit as others have done by buying the unit from ebay. i would like to know the best way of getting into the original dome housing to replace the stock bulbs with led's.

hope that makes sense?

Remove the dome, twist bulb holder out, remove bulbs (pull), fit new bulbs (push), twist bulb holder in, refit dome, job done.

ah right cool, i didn't realize it was that easy; i read a lot of people saying that there are clips that hold it all in and if you lose or snap them off then its a nightmare to do. i will have a look when i get back home and give it a go.

cheers sonic.

There are clips holding the dome in :). Easy to release though tbh. There's a few guides on here. If you break a holder though, then it's a new interior light and they're not cheap.
