Can anyone help , I want a small camera that can protect the car from vandalism I want to mount the camera on the parcel shelf facing forward so being able to capture on film anyone approaching the car ......it has to be able to record for at best 8hrs .....obviously by mounting it on the parcel shelf the rear won't be covered . Additionally it has to be rechargeable or battery powered . I've recently had my car damaged by a **** for brains scum bag spineless weird freaky paedophile merchant banker , I would like to protect my car from another attack or at least capture whoever does it , thanks

If you do manage to find a camera that'll record for 8 hours, the problem you'll have is getting it charged again in time to do the next 8 hours

You could fit an external battery. Buy a couple of external batteries and swap them over

Or how about something either motion detection? The mobius can switch itself on if motion is detected. You can even power it to record 8 hours at a time. And they're small and discreet

I would of thought this would be easy if you have dashcams installed hardwired. all you need to do it switch the power between hardwired into the car to a portable battery when you leave and then revert back over to the hardwire connection while driving and have the portable charger charge.

I have been debating my choices regards to this, I have a tom tom from previous car, and love having speed camera warnings (espcially useful after moving to a different part of the country a few months ago and main reason i bought the tomtom) not that i speed evey place, just because when you are on a road that is empty going home you do intend to go that little bit faster.

anyway to the point has anyone actually tried the dash cams with speed camera detector built in? do these work well? what is your thoughts ect?

just looking for some feedback before my tomtom suddenly develops a fault that is grounds for refund :p
