I hate other drivers (wing mirror issue)

Well, some clown has hit my mirror when I wasn't present with my car and they have smashed off part of the black ring around the unit!
Is this just one part or will I have to replace the whole mirror unit? The mirror cover is fine, just the black ring!

I'd say new mirror. The cover comes off though so get a bare one to save costs. Or, take the opportunity for a Powerfold retrofit.

That's the structural part.

Must have been quite a whack?! Lucky the heated glass survived!

Argh crap man! Hope you get it sorted. Good idea regarding the powerfold option, there's always a good excuse for upgrades hehe

Isn't this the part you need?

It's described as a support ring in the advert. I looked for an exploded parts diagram and found one for another model of BMW - it looked like that part is detachable and was also described as a support ring...

If I'm wrong, there are complete, used, 1 series mirrors on ebay from £35.

Yeah that's what I was thinking! They must have hit it at some pace

Yeah I did see that bud! I think I will take it to my local BMW garage and see what they say. But you know what I'll get from them.. "you'll need a whole new wing mirror" :lol2:
