After spending quite a while looking for a temporary sh*tbox to use as a runabout whilst I work through the to do pile for the 1er… I’ve ended up ‘rescuing’ this from a family member who was considering palming it off on WBAC.

Just in time for the end of summer 😎

Totally unmodified apart from the rust. Might get some headlight eyelashes though, would really help the look.

Perfect, now you just need an Audi TT and a pair of scissors :lol2:

I’ve genuinely lost track, but amongst other things I’ve got:
  • Coolant flush
  • Brake fluid flush
  • Diff and gearbox oil
  • New fuel pot
  • New M-Sport springs - this might turn into a bigger job if the dampers are a bit spongy!
  • Front and rear 340/345mm F2x calipers (bought a blasting pot so will be stripping/painting them first)
  • Full handbrake rebuild
  • New bonnet cables
  • New headlight lenses (remains to be seen if I'm brave enough for those!)
  • Replacement windscreen cowl/seal as it's too faded for my liking
  • New/refurbed subframe - not actually got one yet though
  • A few random interior trim/plastic pieces
Also trying to get the car scheduled in for paint which is still proving fun!

Can you do 30 day insurance swap for hair dressing <no rinse> free ? as your bmw has an issue<hair dryer broken> 🎻

I still miss mine! some lowering springs, yellow dot RX8 anti roll bars and a fast road alignment transforms these.

Keep the oil on the max line and you should be ok!
This one will be getting precisely sod all in the way of mods - if I change one thing, I know I’ll change more and it’s not in good enough nick to be worth it!

The little blue horror is insured from tomorrow so I’ve obviously still got it in bits. Mostly just tarting it up where possible, and treating any easy to treat rot to stop it getting worse. It probably has about 10kg of added weight in Dynax S50 in the hollow sections now.

Also bought stuff for a full major service (chain driven thankfully so no need to do a belt), replaced the battery, and have ordered some plain plates to replace the oversized dealer branded monstrosities on there now.

Haven’t really started on the 1er yet but I’ve got annual leave coming up so we’ll see how much I can get done then…

Quite happy with how these turned out too:
