Hi All,

Currently driving a 123d coupe but the time has come to upgrade.

I test drove a lovely spec m235i with full performance pack on it the other day and I am just in love with it. The sound is incredible! (Especially coming from a diesel)

Currently I have used Coast2coast and that has given a 7k saving and price is coming out at 32k with extras included.

Has anyone got any tips for dealing with dealers and getting a good deal? Or seen any good deals.

Also is it worth ordering with performance parts or buy them at a later date.

Thanks :)

Was it any good? Did you get hassled to buy?
It wasn't quite as good as I thought it might be. No hassling whatsoever, just an email from the dealer (one of the Scottish ones iirc) with their contact details

Can't look back at it unfortunately.

Looking back now I think the dealer can only message on carwow, unless you take it further

BMW will not be preventing its dealers from selling to whoever or through whoever - it would be illegal. Compliance/legal at BMW would put a stop to that if/when they find out as not worth the risk.

I managed what I think is a great deal by using the coast 2 coast cars quote and then contacting lots of dealers and seeing who will go the lowest. It takes a bit of time, effort and "cheekiness" but well worth it. They would rather sell you a car at a small profit rather than making nothing at all

I tried to buy a demo/nearly new one but local dealer was having none of it when I asked him for discount both on price and finance.

I had no intention of buying new but drove a few to form my opinions on spec etc and then went on line to build my ideal M135i.

Saved the config and then got a choice to send it my local dealer or send nationwide. Did the latter and got numerous hits from bon afide BMW UK dealerships. 3 came in with the lowest price all within a couple hundred pounds of each other which I concluded was the pricing floor for my car.

It was then about who commit to a build date soonest, full tank, rubber mats all round and in the boot etc etc.

I bought a brand new car to spec for substantially less than the demo car local to me !!!!

If messages TRL just waiting for a reply.
Got a few quotes now but still nothing special.
BMW and Sytner are offering a nice deposit contribution currently.

TRL everytime, no messing, no fuss and zero hassle.
Not always the best deal though
maybe not. but whenever I emailed TRL he straight up gave me the best deal. No crap that's expected from other dealers. Unfortunately, I didn't go with TRL in the end (my local dealer got wind of me changing as I had phoned BMWFS for a settlement and my local dealer very reluctantly agreed to marginally beat TRL).

Now the only reason I chose to go with my local dealer (even though they had offered a slightly better deal) was because travelling to TRL involves one way flight and boat return. So on this occasion it made sense to stick locally.

However, when it comes time to change again I will be straight to TRL and ordering from him.

In my mind it says a lot when people such as myself are willing to travel to mainland U.K/the other side of the U.K for a dealer. Largely due to the discount offered yes but also because his knowledge and communication is top class.

Don't forget to get the on the road price not just the deposit and monthlies as they can fudge the figures.
