Hi

Was wondering how high mileage our 123ds are capable of?

Currently sat on 85k and by Christmas should be on 100k. I plan to keep the car for another few years so could easily be at 150k.

I always allow the oil to warm and cool, never go above 2000 revs for 20 minutes etc. Car has a full service history and I will continue to service every 10k

So far the car feels very smooth and pulls all through the revs, also had the timing chain recall done so wss just wondering what the highest mileage 123d is without needing massive work?

So I'll start -

2008 123d coupe - 85k original everything

Not a 123d...but I have a 118d 2008 (5:cool2: N47 on 141,000miles, had new clutch and Flywheel at 130,000miles, that's it, on its original chain/drivetrains etc..apart from tyres and brakes over the years...

Aiming for 200,000miles in 1-2 years time, see how it feels by then :) still feels tight and no rattles at all, just a number to me mate.

254k kilometers ~ 158k miles.

But i had changed my chains 20k km ago.
Still can hear chainy sounds, but im not worried about it anymore. :)
I don't worry anymore about that issue, they are very good workhorses, mileage doesn't seem to effect them alot only the price come resale.

I had a 123d, took it from 6k to 27k and it was great, though I also had a 2002 Mondeo diesel from new and took that to 140k miles, I am sure that the engine performed as well when I sold it (traded for the E87 120i we still have) as it did when new. No need to worry about mileage on modern engines, the only thing about the 123d is that it is quite complex if things were to go wrong.

Thats nothing for a E60 - they can go 250,000+ easily - few guys round me use them as taxis now same as the old shape N47 318ds/320ds E91's - cheap as chips to buy and run.

I took my 118d 2008 from 50,000 - 169,000 miles, lovely solid cars and utter bargains now. A 123d has twin turbo's so little more complex, but nothing majorly complex I would of thought, they have "stronger" drivetrains so thats a bonus for moon mileages if you change the fluids on time.
