Have you had the 135i long and noticed it got heavier?

135 has hpas rather than epas so it will be slightly heavier than your old 123.

The 135s I have driven had a bit heavier steering (and more feel and feedback) than my 123 but like a feather compared to my M3.

Learn something new everyday, I thought the 123d had hydraulic steering as well, it certainly feels hydraulic anyway in comparison to my previous numb steering VAG cars, my god they are poor in comparison !

Are you getting any odd noises from it...grauchy or squeeky sounds, especially once past about 1/3 lock on the steering...?

If not, I'd say it's probably a 'trick of the mind' that you feel it's been getting heavier.

I drove my mum's e46 330 convertible about 5 m on the drive this morning and fell in love the steering feel on that.

Just such a nice weight to it.

The electric steering in the LE is rather vague and dissapointing.

Indeed. I'd been driving almost 20 years before I owned a car with PAS.

Heaviest steering of any of the car I had was the steering on my Cortina Mk3 2.0GT......the Popeye arms analagy is very true.

The steering on my Lotus-Sunbeam after fitting of the 'works' 2.2 ratio quick rack was comically heavy. The now ex-missus couldn't even turn the wheel or depress the clutch when she tried to drive it - was so funny :lol2:

I'm looking forward to getting the '32 Ford on the road at the end of the year, and the joys of manual steering again :cool2:
