Afternoon all,

Just a short post.

I have to take my hat of to BMW for the m135i. The 'go anywhere car' that goes like stink and can be used for track days through to shopping runs.

My car has just 600 miles on it. Driving into London in heavy traffic I still got 24.9mpg!
I can hardly believe it myself!

Once I have had the m-performance bits fitted to my car I will post some pictures but between now and then all I can say is "what a car". You can actually have you cake and eat it.

General running around I'm averaging 27-28mpg.

£30-40 a week I'm putting in, can't stop driving the bloody thing, any excuse and I'm out in it! Lol

Just want this bloody weather to clear up so I can clean it and try the loud pedal a bit more.

Completely agree. I think some people are put off the car because it's a 3 litre (selling point for me) but it's better on fuel than my GTi, sounds better and is a whole lot quicker.

I'm averaging 35 with a mixture of city driving and longer journeys. Can't complain at that for a car thats got the performance of a M135i

I'm still running 25-30 daily at stage 2. And 30-35 on a run. These engines blow my mind!

Yeah that's for total ownership over the past 5 months. Tanks vary from 32 to 37mph worked out using a fuel app not the dash mpg

Keith,

You make a really good point.

When I test drove the Golf GTI Performance Pack. I had a good drive in it and generally, driving style for driving style the Golf was so marginally better on fuel it wouldn't be worth worrying about.
In addition when I test drove the Seat Leon Cupra 280. Driving style for style again, just to be clear. The Leon was worse than the BMW on the mpg.

So basically, if you give it some thought. The M135i really is a stonking car! It's exterior looks might be a little odd. But on the whole I could not think of a better car in this segment!!!!!

Properly please with my choice.

for comparison, I cant get even 300 miles to a tank in the R estate, averaging 23-25 on a stock car with just under 2k miles when I could get same as Shins before with stage 2

if some bad snow and ice doesn't come around soon I am seriously going to regret this change :)

Let's not forget the cheap road tax , servicing , tyres and insurance . Considering the huge performance , these cars cost peanuts to run . Makes it hard to justify something like an M5 , GT-R really ....

I have been a big engine fan and have only driven 6cyl cars during my life time.
Other then my hand built MK2 (2.9 VR6) sweet heart and owned for last 25 years, this is the best 6cyl car I have had.

My last car was a 2007 Audi TT 3.2 Quattro roadster which I loved, but it was heavy, road tax was a killer near the £500.00 and it drunk fuel. But as I say I loved it. Roof down, sounded great and was spec'd to the nuts. I still miss it.

Never liked turbo cars as I preferred my power to be instant. I purely by accident came across the M135i while surfing the net one day and thought how did they get the in 6cyl in such a small car? Okay I have to go drive it.

Well here we are and the Audi went, well had to go and incame the Mlite. An as already mentioned it amazing and ticks all the boxes, road tax, fuel comp, weight distribution, creature comforts and the rest.

I really love mine and think I be in the Mx25i crowd for a very long time - :) :)

Could be any or all of the following: ( no particular order)

Driving style ( mainly...)
Time of year
Short journeys
Tyre pressures

Now we all know that the 135 has a small tank but I managed to do a 300 miles round trip on a single tank with some left to spare. This is also including driving around the city centre in comfort mode all the time (no eco mode and my normal driving style). I'm impressed to be honest as it's hard to get such a good all rounder.

My only wish list is that the M135 can be AWD but not sure if that will spoil the driving dynamics. Although under control I find that the rear wheel spins pretty easily even when not pushing it in winter. It's not even snowing where I am!
