Is now down to 20 quid in halfords - now question is does anyone have it? Is it any good? I like the sound of the de-ionising drying process- might pick one up this weekend (cheaper than a power washer!).

Debug - I think the hard graft is still needed (no such thing as a free lunch) - however in a autoexpress review they said that drying times were reduced - something it'd be worth getting for.

theres something I don't like about the association of a bleach household cleaning product/that bloke of that program that painted a wall in the opening titles/cleaning my car......even tho my paintwork looks like a botch job at the moment!

stopped into Halfords on the way home and took a look. Its flippin huge gadget.

Didn't buy it....yet...need to get rid of the shampoo that I am currently using..

Quick Review of the flash gadget -

Quite heavy to hold when in use.
Pressure is only as good as your hose/tap pressure
Soap was a but scummy and hard to get off
However the auto drying feature seems to let the water bead better. After I did this the car managed to stay cleaner for a few more days.

Its more of a gimmick thank anything - but I do like the autodry feature.

Also nothing gets rid of the fact you have to use a sponge, and some decent car shampoo- I use supagard at the min.

mmm.. Not too sure on that. One of the local jet washes has a de ionised "no streak" finishing spray... Lets put it this way, if you don't want streaks, dry the car with a drying cloth!!!

its ok , but not that economical as you have to keep buying the shampoo and the filters for the autodry feature. My local tesco has the same feature for a spot free finish and works a treat, so just jetwash mine and clean with a soft brush. The flash thing is ok if you dont have a local jetwash with spot free finishing as an option, but its a costly one

The refils for 10 washes & drys cost about 8 quid If i remember correctly. I am beginning to change my mind about it - ive used it to wash my car quickly the last few times and seems to do an alright job - quicker than the power washer and a chamois.

There is no such thing as a soft brush when it comes to using them on car paintwork!

As I found to my cost. Used one of those spinny round brush jet wash thingys. Might as well have used a scourer!!

Soft sponge is all you need - and some warm water in a bucket - it will keep your car nice and shiny.

I think that I'll just get the Valet guy to do my car once a month - keep a nice layer of wax on there.

He'll charge £25 for an outside clean and polish / wax - nothing on the inside.
That includes coming out to my house - seems liek great value to me.

Roaders mine and chanlons dealer (being the same one) has this thing called the saturday club - you bring your car in on a saturday and they valet your car for free!

My dealer cleans the car every time it is in - even if they are jsut lookign at it to order the right bits.
It does come back clean but no-where near the quality the valet today is doing - it's amazing!!
Only thing is it highlights all the little imperfections that are usually covered in muck!

the Saturday club has now changed name, its now the Mon-Fri Club. They were getting far too many people in (like me ) so have changed the day. Real bummer is that they'll only valet it between 10-12 and 2-4pm

Dude to be honest could u be arsed getting up on a saturday morning? The guy who sold me the car also told me to come in during week days and ask for a service wash. Anyway I think people who dont wash their own cars are lazy - its a bonding thing. I havent used it yet - and I only will if the car is pigging and I have an hour(as thats how long it takes) However Bavarian are aparently the best UK dealers and treat their customers the best.
