Hi guys,

New lurker (since last Friday) and first time poster! Need some advice...

Considering my first BMW. M135i lci to be more specific.

So like a numpty, I bagged the first deal I saw. Literally the day after signing my life away I discovered this forum recommending TFL, Coast 2 Coast etc. for awesome deals. Doh!!

Wanted to see if you guys thought I'd had my pants down with the 'deal' I secured on a new M135i? Spec as follows:

5 door in Estoril Blue
HK speaker upgrade
Heated seats
Comfort pack (rear sensors and cruise control)
Adaptive suspension
8-speed ZF

36 month PCP, 10k pa and £435 pm.

I'm seeing people recently bagging their M135i's with pm payments a healthy amount less than that? High £300s?

What do you guys think? Pants down or acceptable deal?

Have a read through the first post and calculate what you have spec'd
Updated for LCI M135 - What do those options cost per month?

Ah! Cheers for that, Dan.

So some basic maths have brought me here...

48*299 = £14,053

14,053/36 = £390.36

Plus the options...

Added up the cost of the options from that post and * by 33% to convert from 48 to 36 months.

That brings me to £85.20 per month.

Total of £475 ish. By that, not such a bad deal after all?

You should have a total price on the order. Compare that with c2c etc. Also you may well have a 14 day cooling off if it is financed so may well be able to cancel with no penalty.

To work out the quality of the deal, you need (and should have this info readily available anyway on your BMW FS quote.. if you signed something):

OTR Price
Deposit
Monthly
Interest rate / APR
Length of PCP
GMFV (Balloon) payment

Most of the values are fixed, the quality of the deal typically is made by the dealer discounting the OTR to reduce the monthly.

Ok so here's what I have on my contract docs:

£34,860 including options.

Special allowance (dealer discount?) £4865.99

Total purchase price (before deposit deduction but including new registration free etc.) £31,088.98.

No GMFV price on the paperwork I have.

Ok thanks, so not the end of the world, but could have swung a slightly better deal.

Another quick question - why is it people go for 48 months besides smaller payments?

I went for 36 as I change cars often, but am I missing a trick by not going for 48 months?

I went for 4 months purely for the fact I will probably buy the car outright at end so need more time to save up for gfv. You obviously make an interest saving as you are borrowing for less time.3 years makes sense though as its alligne with bmw warranty etc..

The question you need to ask yourself is " is 31088 a decent price for that spec". You might be able too do if for a couple of k less.

True. However even if I bagged a further 2k discount, it likely wouldn't be worth losing my deposit to cancel and close a deal with a new dealer.
