Is it possible? Is the boot/rear space suitable for occasional use in a one-car family?

Interested to know your thoughts...

The local paint place to me where I took my MSport bumper to be painted has some concurs 'classics' in the reception area, including an Austin 1100.

When I saw it, I was taken right back to my childhood days when Mum, Dad, me, my brother and my Gran used to get ourselves and all our luggage into it. I think we may have used a roof rack too.

On that basis, I can't see why an F22 wouldn't do the job as its a lot bigger than an Austin 1100.

I think day to day, you'd have no problems. My wife had an A3 Saloon courtesy car the other week, and it was perfectly fine for us and our little one, as well as the dog. They're a similar size to an F22 aren't they? The three doors shouldn't be an issue for occasional use.

For holidays/weekends away and the like, a roof box would make things much easier. We still use one in mine or her regular A3 sportback. I appreciate a roof box and a coupe don't go too well for some, but better to have the option should you need it.

I had a Honda Prelude when my kiddies were tiny, and my wife had a Citroen AX.

When I was a sprog, our family of 5 survived with a mini traveller :lol2:

F22 is a monster in comparison

When my daughter was born I had a 3 door Mk5 Golf R32. 3 months in we had an overnight stay for wedding and got everything into the boot no worries. And my misses packed everything, including the kitchen sink.
So even with the crappy boot space in that because of the four wheel drive, I reckon you should be ok.
Last holiday up to the lakes and I filled my boot in my last F20. All our stuff and nothing in the car with us. Not bad for a week away I thought.

A coupe is fine for occasional passengers, it's not the greatest solution for getting in and out regularly.

The boot space is actually good in the 2 series. It won't have the ability of getting single large items through the opening, but the boot is bigger overall than the 1 series.

The F22 has two doors and a traditional boot not a hatchback.

Yep, I wasn't clear in one bit of my post was I.

I should have written the two doors and a boot shouldn't be an issue for occasional use.

By that I mean I wouldn't like to be putting a toddler in and out of the back several times a day, but now and again would be fine. The boot is a bit bigger than a 1 series hatch too I understand?

Apologies for mot being clear.
