Afternoon all.

I am having BT issues on my 2015 LCI M135.

The problem only seems to occur when i am receiving a call, but the BT connection will keep dropping out during the call. The actual phone/call remains connected to the other person, and then a couple of seconds later the car and screen realise and then re-displays an open call on the Pro Nav screen. This never seems to be an issue when making the call, so its very strange.

Anyone else had the same issue or suggest how i can resolve? Dealer visit for a software update maybe?

I get exactly the same issue - drives me bonkers. Could never work out if it was my phone, the car, or my wife's phone/car (e87), but as your description is identical to my issue I guess it must be the car...

I'm in an F20 Lci M135i (built June 2015).

I do need to get the software updated because I also have problems with sending nav directions to the car, but have just never got round to booking it in.

Let me know how you get on with your dealer...

What phone are you using? I got the latest Nav software (it auto updates) and using an iPhone 6 - no issues here at all...

Actually, doesn't the LCI auto update?

I have BT issues as well. It's followed me from my 118i without Nav to my new m135i with pro Nav.
Basically I get the issue where I start the car and the Bluetooth connects. It immediately thinks it in a call to itself!! And displays my own number being dialled!!

I check the phone and no calls are shown ongoing.
Only way to fix it is to dial out and then cancel straight away. From the handset, not the car iDrive.

It more annoying than anything else. Happens about once a week.

Same here my wife's phone keeping dropping out when connected via BT

Also I haven't got EBT on our car yet Spotify connect via BT when we first got it (which I thought was a EBT thing only) but it doesn't now and only always Spotify when connected via USB?!

As far as I know the self-updating is only for the map-updates. The software/firmware requires updating by a dealer.

There is also a Bluetooth profile which can be updated via USB - which might be relevant for this problem, if it's a Bluetooth issue rather than firmware. I guess this would also be updated as part of a software update...

I'm on iPhone 6.

Mine is one of the launch models so built at a similar time to yours. Maybe this is a real issue then. Also have the issue with send to car and remote unlock. Remote lock and lights flash all work fine though.

Will let you know when I get booked in.

I've got an iPhone 6S. Works fine in my mums 2014 F30 though.

Hi, did anyone get anywhere with this,

I have a m135 f21 Jan 2016 build, pro nav with enhanced bt, iphone 6, software up to date , but the same issue call drops for a few seconds then reappears as a new call... Looked for bmw software update but none to be had....

Also get the same issue where the call will drop from the car but stay connected on the phone, then re-appear on the iDrive again.

Not noticed if it is incoming calls only though, might be thinking about it. Also iPhone 6s (iOS 9.2 and iOS9.3)

Edit : Car build date Feb 2016.

Maybe try this

  • Unpair your phone from the car and the car from phone
  • go onto BMW website and check if there's any BT and or media updates for your car's VIN
  • update your idrive with update onto USB stick and plug USB stick into socket under the armrest
  • once idrive updates done, re-pair your phone and car back together

No not sorted for me either - equally not had chance/keep forgetting to book it in.

I now have a squeaking passenger seat base, so need to pull my finger out and ring the local stealer.

My car was in today and in a nut shell, they have updated the i-drive firmware and claim that the Bluetooth now works without issue. This was based on a technician's iPhone 6.
I have a 6S, but this same 6S worked perfectly in the 2014 F30 330d i p/x'd for my M135.

Time will tell if this is a 'fix'.

Old thread but i have the same issue, back from lloyds today after getting mpe fitted and supposedly bmw are blaming apple and it needs a ios update, they gave me the bmw sheet detailing issue... So might be something we need to deal with long term

Bmw case blames it on ios 9.2.1 or lower but i assume the mean or newer or it would never have worked...

Says wlan deactivation may help and it is fixed in the 9.3 beta, i used to be on beta programme but quit... Hopefully this will resolve when released
