Anyone tried the Eton B195 Neo under seat subs in an F20/21 with base audio?

They are apprently plug and play and compatible with base audio (I.e no need for an Amp). I know the improvement will be hampered by not upgrading to an external amp, but I'm looking for cheapest upgrade and it would presumably get around the sound symposer issue on my M135i, and still deliver an improved sound than the oem speakers.

The Eton website clearly shows it as compatible but I've read a few posts across the web about impedence being important to not fry the head unit, and does appear that these subs operate at 4 ohms rather than the standard 2. That's were my knowledge ends...

They are a German audio company - good reviews of their home audio kit. Only reason to consider them over focal, Earthquake, and others is they apparently have a specific plug and play upgrade for the base 6.5" under seat subs. Most of the others are based on the 8" subs of the Hifi or HK set-ups.

The sub enclosures are apparently different with the base audio system, so the B150USB sub by Eton won't fit. The B195 Neo should be easy to install, but will almost certainly be underpowered by the head unit alone in the base system.

is tempting - a plug and play solution for the base system, amp and all speakers included as well as the cables - plus the amp comes pre-configured with DSP settings for the F20.

Alpine retrofit with HK subs are a good cheap option. It's what I'm running now.. I had focals in my 116i and they were great, but more effort to fit
