Hi Guys

My M135i F21 has BMW online, EBT, BMW Assist, Pro Nav however I don't have BMW APPS.

Can this be coded with ESYS, I assume I need to change the FA/VO?

Any help appreciated.....

Thanks,

I have a 2013 and its NBT which is why I thought it was odd I didn't have the APPS but kinda have everything else on the car.

Where do I go in ESYS to view the FSC codes and status?..... and then what do i do if you dont mind helping?

(I have managed to create an FSC code to do the NAV/MAPS upgrade recently using the NBT.EXE tool)

P.S:- I do have an iPhone and yes I know it will only work with it plugged in via the cable - The Mrs has 420d wih APPS in CONNECTED DRIVE but I want it now on my car lol

Have you coded EBT? Try that first then plug your phone in and launch Tunein radio or another compatible app. See if the app appears in the connected drive menu.

There is a menu item on the left hand pane for FSC status, click on that and then there is a button to read the current status IIRC.

You won't be able to create the FSC code as far as I know.
The car came with EBT from new so no didn't code it. As for me creating an FSC code, I mean I just queried to the car to retrieve it and then used it to upgrade my maps to 2016-1 which worked fine.

As for plugging the phone in believe it or not I didn't try that, I guessed that as 'BMW APPS' wasn't listed under CONNECTED DRIVE I didn't have it... In the Mrs car its listed under CONNECTED DRIVE and then when you click into it the apps are displayed there providing the phone is connected via the cable of course.

Ill give it a try.

I expect your wife's car has a later version of nbt firmware. Let me know how you get on :)
Well it works in !!, thanks (however not like it does in our 420d), I plug my phone in and select it in the MEDIA selector screen and sure enough it plays through the car speakers, I can also Bluetooth stream it using the EBT of course.

I'll plug in ESYS in her car and see what firmware version she is running... When you go into CONNECTED DRIVE on hers you choose BMW APPS at the bottom and then it asks for you to connect the phone with the cable and then you can select TUNEIN, SPOTIFY, TWITTER, ETC from the idrive menu and then it just pulls this off the phone itself and give you album art and the TUNEIN radio logo's etc...

Either way I can stream from TUNEIN now - I didnt think to try that before so thanks very much, its often the simple things that work. :D

So if you go into connected drive after connecting the phone and starting the app, what happens? Does Spotify appear at the bottom of the list? When using Spotify do you get the same app interface on the idrive screen?
No I dont get any of that at all... I just have to choose my USB connection from the MEDIA selector and then it plays TUNEIN that way (no visual indicator at all just sound through the speakers.

Or in the same fashion choose BLUETOOTH and it streams TUNEIN

Yeah I certainly dont get any of that....

No Spotify app under EXTERNAL DEVICES on the idrive Multimedia menu and no BMW logo on on the screen when launching the app on my iphone.

However as mentioned Spotify comes through the speakers fine once it is playing a song via the cable.

Very odd and not quite right as you say

Spotify wont come under the multimedia menu, it will either be under Radio or the Connected Drive menu.

If it isn't under either of those menu's then you don't have option 6NR - BMW Apps and will need an FSC code importing into your NBT via ESys to make it work.
No I dont have either so yeah probably missing 6NR (will check later)

Thank you for all your help and assistance with this....

6NR can be added to any CIC with Combox or NBT, without buying FSC from dealer.
Have you got any pointers on how to do this? I've got an ENET cable and E-sys working etc

Cheers!
