Hi all,
I have a 2016 118d which i have removed and cleaned the EGR valve.
I used ISTA to retract the valve by 30% before installing it as well.
the issue i have is once i plugged the valve in it makes this high pitched whistling/ringing noise.
the sound comes on when the ignition is on.
there isnt an engine check light.
anyone has any idea what might be the problem?

Whistling would suggest there is a leak of air somewhere - i.e., you've burst the flex pipe during the removal/reinstallation process.

Could also be normal flow of air through the valve but it's hard to say without hearing the sound.
