That looks one sweet car mate. Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh on the Romp.

B8's are on, putting the rear brace on tomorrow.

Running very well :)
Brace Pics for me?! :D

Did you finish that rear-damper 'How To' Boss?
That's what I really like about your car Dougie..

All performance and handling improvements.. You haven't bothered trying to tart it up with black bits and neons, just went with the important stuff ;)

Yep, once the rear brace is on, only other thing I would consider is replacing the front shocks with Bilsteins as well.

How come you only did the rears Dougie? Are you running factory springs with the B8s? Have to agree with Muz, proper choice of mods.
If I hold on to mine I may look at the BMWP Intake, exhaust and the Quaiffe

Yep, factory springs.

Rear passenger side was gone on the previous shocks. Had only recently replaced the front springs.

In hindsight I should have got it all done at once, but front spring had snapped so just wanted them replaced asap, was not even considering shocks until the rear went.
Ahhh, that makes sense. Would you not think of Eibach Pro springs with the B8s?

I'll be considering when I have some spare cash, probably at the same time as I upgrade the front shockers.
Very nice car. Great engine.
Thread bump! I wanted to ask you about the Bilstein B8s on the rear. There are so many conflicting reviews on various forums that it's impossible to decide which dampers to buy.
Compared to standard M Sport - are the B8's harsh over small road imperfections? I don't mind firm suspension, in fact I'd like the car to be stiffer in roll but I don't want a hard crashy ride.
I'm leaning towards the Koni adjustables purely for comfort reasons but I can't help thinking the monotube Bilsteins are 'better'

Cheers

I've never had anything other than the standard M Sport suspension until a front spring snapped.

Now with Bilstein B8's along with eibach sportlines, I have zero complaints about the ride or handling.

Still pretty firm :) , but far better than standard.
