This is a common mod on the F20 now, but has anyone fitted the rear tension struts from an E81 to your E87?

Part 17 on here (assuming you don't already have one fitted?):

I think you'd need 33326784315, 33326784316 and 2 x 07147203503 to bolt it up?

It comes part of the BMW Performance suspension package, as well as standard on some E81's

Never seen anyone fit this before but looks like it could be a worth while mod providing it doesn't weigh to much.

If nobody has done it yet, it's hard to say for sure.

If it's anything like the F20, it will stabilise the rear beam assembly (which tends to squirm under cornering, and axle-tramp during acceleration).

What are the benefits?
Hi - I have installed the F80 plate and rear underbody cross brace for F21.

My F20 5dr has quaife LSD and JB4 with ~ 400bhp/460lbft and the rear brace positively locates rear subframe to the underbody.

More power and QLSD putting more reactions into the rear subframe bushes meant occasionally worming under hard acceleration. With underbody chassis bracing the rear is now much more stable with any and all of the aforementioned wobbles now gone.

My car is now even more composed especially over bumpy roads, typical of what we have here in the UK.

Read this thread on similar for F20. " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;"

E36 owners fit a similar brace from the front subframe to the body. That really firms up the front end giving better steering response - it's a good mod.
I'll be buying one of these for my 130 assuming all the fixing points are there.

Should be there, it's part of the E87 Performance suspension upgrade.

Looks like springs & dampers, ARB's, and the 3dr rear brace, no?
