The whole purchase process has been completed and now that I have my car sat outside the house the one thing that I never bothered asking about is whether you get any BMW breakdown cover with a new vehicle.
Does anybody know what you get, if anything?

Yeh mate should have had a card from them in the post just after buying it. May take a week or two.

Good stuff, maybe I can get a rebate on the cover in my car insurance then.

Is it the equivalent of aa cover? The wording on BMW website seems to be strongly linked to having an accident rather than a breakdown.

This is the card I believe. Says accident recovery but same even if you break down.

Think it's all redundant anyway you just either hit the sos button or press the concierge services under connected drive.

I don't have concierge as only business nav. I guess SOS button it is then. I assumed SOS was for when the crap's hit the fan, life and death stuff.

I can confirm that you get 3 years break down cover. Either use the sos button or there should be a number behind your BMW emblem on your key fob. They are really good, get to you very quickly with a local company, take you to the closest BMW garage and if needed book a hire car to be with you within the hour. They keep you updated via texts the whole time too. I only used it once but was happy with the service.

I'm sure you just press the SOS button and the concierge sorts a breakdown truck etc.
I was told only to press this button in a proper emergency, not a breakdown.

I've not heard or received a thing from BMW since I bought my M235i brand new 3.5 months ago.

My car broke down and I called the wrong number first, they then told me to call the SOS number as I was stranded at the side of the road. I suppose a real emergency is 999 so what would constitute a car emergency??

Yeh I took a friend a little time back to collect his M135i, it had done 18k miles so not been for a service as was not required. But we were about hour into our journey home and his new car asked for oil and said not to continue without adding 1 litre, so pulled over pressed SOS button and within the hour a BMW van turned up topped up his oil checked everything else was ok and was on our way with no charge what so ever that is one reason I'll stick with BMW for years to come. Great service.
