Hello,

I was looking at getting the app to code in some comfort features in my new E82 and was wondering about the difference between bimmercode and bimmerlink.

Is it code for coding and link for stats etc.?

Thanks :)

I saw -link is a 100% payed app, while -code has some functions in the free version. Is this of any use, or should you get the payed version?

There are certain (very limited) functions available for the free versions of both Bimmerlink & Bimmercode but they're about as much use as a catflap on a submarine.
The free versions are handy for checking compatibility with your car and OBD Adapter before purchasing the full versions but that's about it.

BimmerLink - you can read a few sensor values (voltage & battery condition) but cannot read or reset any fault codes for example.

BimmerCode - you can read all the modules default codes but cannot change the coding anything.

Any recommendations for most reliable obd adaptor to work with Bimmerlink on an iPhone 11? The cars I want to "read" are a 2006 e87 130i pre lci, a 2008 e91 320d mtouring edition pre lci, and a 2016 f20 m135i lci . I don't want to code different features but want to read temperatures , battery condition etc. Thank you in advance, Peter

I bought the Bimmerlink last year, this year I switched from Android to IPgone and the app tells me to buy it again, what do you think?
Del sitio web de Bimmerlink... "SĂ, puedes usar la aplicaciĂłn en varios dispositivos sin tener que pagar nuevamente, pero ten en cuenta que no es posible transferir una compra de iOS a Android o vice versa".

From Bimmerlink's website... "Yes, you can use the app on multiple devices without having to pay again, but please note that it is not possible to transfer a purchase from iOS to Android or vice versa."

These app are nothing more than glorified BMW software in a nice(r) package. I can see that for the 'youngsters' doing it through an app is more convenient, but just keep in mind that DIS/INPA/NCS Expert (Exx) and ISTA/etc for later F/G can do this all for free. Of course you have to pay for a cable, but that's it.
My E36 diagnostics/coding setup works perfectly on my E88.

Just my 2c.

They are the names of software, which are 100x more recognisable in their abbreviated forms than in their full form. I've used ISTA for a few years now and still had to look up what it actually means: it's 'Integrated Service Technical Application' for anyone that's interested. :ROFLMAO:
