Going to change the Diff fluid on my E82 123D Auto. What fluid is best, grade etc. I have just be quoted £30 for a liter at BMW - seems pricey

The spec is 75W90 GL5, iirc.

Some people step up to a 75W140 GL5

For my 135i, I changed it, but kept the original spec.

Castrol Syntrax is OEM spec - £15

Just stay OEM. As long as its changed to preserve the diff the original oil is as good as any.

Thanks just brought the Castrol Syntrax. BMW wanted £30 for the same bottle (well the same fluid in a BMW branded bottle)
