Hi all, I’m usually a poster in the 1er sections. So at the moment I have an M135i Xdrive, my wife and I only run one car as I have a company van, now I’m in a position where I can buy an M2 outright and I’d like one as a weekend machine so still keeping the 135 as our daily.
I only plan on keeping the car a couple of years and then moving it on as I don’t want 40k tied up, I appreciate that car prices are all over the place at the moment and I’d be buying high at the moment but have people seen much depreciation over the last few years? From what I can tell these don’t seem to lose an awful lot.
I just want to own a real M car for a time in my life.
iv’e included a pic of the daily.

Bought mine in Mar 21 when I put a low offer in for 40k, shortly after there was a sharp increase in values (covid knock on). Prices jumped to near 47k, now they’ve come down again to 39-41k. So in two years it’s hardly dropped at all - however these are strange times and it could drop again as the new G87 :sick2: deliveries pick up.

I’m thinking of waiting until the new M2’s start coming through so May drop prices a little. However from what I’m hearing it’s not being received all that well due to its controversial looks! So not sure if the new car will affect residuals all that much.

I bought my M2 Comp for £45k in August 2022. It’s on PCP and the GFV after 4 years (so 6.5 year old car) is around £26k. Read in to this what you like, but I’m not expecting massive depreciation on them. Obviously cars are depreciating assets. But, the way new car prices have rocketed and continue to rise keep the used market high.

The new m2 has been delayed so no may cars, I was down for one of the first batch, delivery on my order was may but now it’s been changed to September and some will not see there cars this year at all.
ISTR you said in another thread that your order had been delayed but I haven't seen any other info regarding delays. Out of interest, what was the source of your info regarding delay?

10th feb, my dealer said.

We have had all of our builds move back in the year, we don’t have any M2’s coming in May.

Some have been pushed back even further than yours.
