Hi,

My oil change is due, I called up my local dealer and was quoted 130£ for the oil change, or 180£ with the microfilter change too.

My car has full dealer service history when I bought it few months back. is this a reasonable price? I am wondering whether to main the service history or go to an indy. I will probably sell in 2 years time (for another BMW)

Also, would anyone know if dealers offer a courtesy car? They did mention that it would take about half-day approx,

Ask if you can supply your own LL04 engine oil, that will save you about £50.

Some will offer a courtesy car, they might ask for a few pounds to cover insurance though.

I just went for it, because by the time I'd bought 7 litres of LL04 at £10 a litre and an oil filter I figured I was probably better of just letting them do it.

Sounds about right price for a BMW dealer, but u can check prices here

You can get a courtesy car if you request it at time of booking. Some dealers ask for a £10-£15 fee otherwise you are liable for a massive excess in event of an accident, so check that with them.

After ringing a local indy, and was quoted 100 + vat, it seems the price BMW are offering is not overly overpriced.

When you sell it on (like you said for another BMW) you can use the full service history card when negotiating a better deal.
