Coolant loss on charge circuit

Hi all
The chariot suffered the stone of death today and I now have a drive full of coolant and an empty charge circuit coolant tank and system.
I know it will cause higher IAT's etc however the question is this - Is it OK to drive still? The main coolant system is all OK. Looking at the diagrams it implies yes with the obvious get it fixed asap and no hooligan driving.

I know you have to have the system vacuum filled so trip to dealer / indy there, once again as it has no coolant in it and with the labour on this job high, I'm thinking replace the rad myself, ok on the spanners! and then let filling be done by others. Appreciate this blows the warranty cover on the part as not fitted by dealer but they won't cover the route cause of the failure anyway so not thinking i've lost out there!

The part comes up on the bmw uk shop site, no surprises but interestingly says about only in conjunction with new module carriers left and right and rock guards. Real OEM backs this up as well, so this looks like they are forcing you to do their 'upgrade' as the original rad is no longer available. More cost but with the benefit of the guards  :D

Have BMW warranty but believe this is classed as wear and tear so not covered unless anyone knows better?

All advice and thoughts appreciated.

Not covered under warranty unfortunately. Might be advisable to fit the new stone guards that came on the lci. I had mine punctured few years ago. Cost £1100 at dealer to fix.

Thanks Dave, that was the cost I have been sulking about this afternoon  Looking at real oem it appears you are forced to fit that system now regardless so more cost but saves future failure hopefully.
Silly question but I thought I’d ask. Does no one repair radiators now. Years ago you never replaced them, just got them patched up. Yours will be in perfect condition other than one puncture. Could be worth looking into.

Interesting point. I'm old enough to remember doing just that, in fact the area specialist was a 5 min walk from home! We have become a throw away society sadly, i'll look into
Could save you nearly £1000 just by asking.
The days when I used to chuck a raw egg in to my Capri's rad.:)
If you are going to drive the car, be careful with the electric pump. If it doesn't stop when the circuit it's empty, may burn itself because I think that the coolant also cools the pump....
Thanks for advice 👍
