I noticed yesterday that the numbers on my dashboard clock had disappeared and been replaced with dashes. I re-set the correct time and all was well. This morning I went out and started the car and the dashes had appeared again. Could this be a battery problem? Thanks for any help.

Yup, your car is saving battery power. I don't think a digital clock uses much power, so it must be pretty poorly!

If a charge won't save it (unlikely), time to code a new one to the car.

Getting a battery is the easy bit, having it coded (charging profile reset) is the slightly trickier bit.

I believe Halfords Centres were doing it inexpensively, I'd call before driving over though. Or DIY with Carly App, etc?

I just had a new battery coded to my LE

Took all of about 30 seconds with the Carly app. Piece of ****.

Make sure you get an AGM that matches the original specs.

Had the same issue end of winter last year, went away over the summer and got it back again beginning of this winter. Other typical symptoms are you should also be getting a car on a ramp symbol and your stop/start will have stopped working. You could delay it till next winter like I did as it's not the end of the world that you lose your time.

I got mine done at BMW for £240. I had a look at the iCarly app and for me, by the time I bought the OBC reader, app, and the battery change in app purchase, it worked out a similar price anyways. Best thing is to find someone who already has those things then you can chuck em a bit of money for the hassle.
