Car transport costs.

I've not bought a new car in a while, I'm about to do so from a dealer 150 miles from me (did a deal nobody locally was prepared to do!), and I've asked them to quote for delivering the car to me. I see a good few posts on here about new cars being transported directly to their buyers and was wondering whether dealers typically threw transport in, or what the costs ought to be to transport a car 150 miles? Thanks

Shouldn't be too much. Bringing cars from say London area to Northern Ireland costs about £350 which includes the ferry trip.
I'm paying £299 for home delivery through BMW Park Lane, so it's all organised by the dealer
A dealer NW of London told me £1 per mile. Alternatively, if he delivered it himself it would be free - but probably 6000 rpm most of the way.
Thanks guys. Do they generally put them in enclosed luton type vans/lorrys (excuse me don't know what they call them) or on open low loaders?

Ha ha ha
i've got to quote and he's always really good, £250-300. a lot of youtuber's use Tony
Could you not get the train and drive it back? I'd much prefer that.
Hi guys, thought I'd ask what are your experiences using a delivery service to transport a used car to you especially when 200-250 miles away?

It's not ideal but what are the options and how would it work in terms of payment, making sure you secure it and then delivery; is this all possible without seeing the car ? or is that first visit always a must regardless which can't be avoided

Thanks
I was looking at a different car recently from a BMW dealer quite a distance from me. Their costs were £1 per mile, each way, plus a flat fee of £50 on top.
Yeah I had a car delivered from Brighton to Leeds once that I'd purchased for my daughter, I think the charge was over £400. It was a few years back and I guess these days they are more geared up for this after covid, thus being cheaper...

How did it work in terms of securing the car / paper work especially if the car transport service was separate from your purchase ? I guess it's more convenient when you buy the car off a dealer who offers that service opposed to a private seller
I had my BMW delivered by ISSD Park Lane which I think is their default method. It arrived in a covered trailer and was spotless, very impressed. Cost £299 according to the invoice but was part of as heavily discounted deal so really cost me nothing. I also had a Mini delivered from Peter Vardy in Edinburgh. It was a used car so driven delivery and the guy drove back in my part ex. No charge for that. I had though been up to Edinburgh the previous week to test drive the car and would always want to eyeball a used car before ordering, though I guess if you didn't it would still be covered under the distance selling regulations and you would be entitled to return it.
