The N52 engine in the 130i is pretty much bulletproof mate.

As long as it has a full service history etc it should fine. Seeing it's family, I'm assuming you can trust them lol
As above they are really reliable cars. Mine is at 45k and I had a brake calliper replaced today under warranty - common problem on these by all accounts but cheap to fix if it occurs. If the price is right and your looking for a 130i I would say go for it at that mileage. Chances are you wouldn't loose much on your investment at that mileage either. Whats the spec?
I don't know the exact spec, all I know is that It's an M-Sport, Manual, it doesn't have leather seats (which is a + in my eyes), doesn't have the satnav, just a storage hole, has keyless go and parking sensors front and rear. Other than that I haven't really looked too deeply into the exact specification.

I'm yet to make an offer on price, I'm trying to work it out based on what's currently on autotrader.
To be fair the engine is the most important spec about the car! :D
If you go to and enter the last 7 digits of the VIN it will tell you all the factory fitted options it has.

Post the list on here and we can tell you what its got..

Or pm me the last 7 digits and I can do it for you if you like
Sounds like it's had an easy and cosseted life so far? Could be a real gem.
Get some pics up and specs of this here beast......we'll probably just tell you to buy it anyway :lol2:
I will get the vin an post the list as soon as I find out.

Easy life is one way of putting it haha, sat in a heated garage all its life. I'll post some pics when I work out how :D

Hopefully when I get the specs you guys could give me an idea of what to offer for it

You'll need to upload your pics to an image hosting site such as Photobucket before you can post any pics.
Just buy it.

There's very little that goes wrong on these cars.

Is that everything?

Seems pretty basic to me
Unless i'm missing something, thats all that was there under the options list.
I take it it's a low spec then? It was bought off the showroom floor rather an ordered so that may explain it.
Although I can't see any thing on the list for the "Comfort access", But I know the car has it
Its got cruise which i don't think was standard for the M Sport spec.
It's got some options, but on the whole it's a pretty basic spec car.

Doesn't mater as long as it's a good price but if you're after the options there are better ones out there.

I haven't negotiated a price yet but now I know it's basic I'll bear that in mind. I'm not sure what what other options there are that I would realistically miss if i didn't have them.

Any ideas what it's worth? (I know thats like asking how long a piece of string is, but any ideas would help)
The only thing I'd be after is leather interior and xenon lights, but just factor it into the price. I think the number of decent 130is will begin to dwindle soon as happens with all BMWs of a certain age, so I wouldn't get too hung up on it if it's an honest low mileage car in good nick
There's no reference to the sterio system either...business or professional? Doesn't seem like that's a complete list to me but sounds like a fairly basic spec.

Still don't think you can go wrong buying it, low mileage 130i in decent condition isn't going to lose you much money!
I'm not too worried about not having leather, I think it ages really badly. Xenons I would like to have though.

Not sure why it doesn't mention the stereo, Unless I'm looking in the wrong place? If someone else wanted to look I'd happily send them the VIN.
There are some things on the car that I haven't seen on the options list, but I know the car has it, so I'm questioning the accuracy.
They are really sweet cars - many prefer them to the turbo versions.

I'd look at completed listings on ebay to see what the real sale prices have been - Autotrader is often more expensive at asking price and you never know what the final price is going to be.
