Just been out for a quick drive and as usual a smile appeared on my face after only a short time. My E87 is the best "put together" car I have owned. Even after I've ripped it to pieces fitting mods and upgrades it's still 100% rattle free and feels as solid as a rock.
When I eventually do buy another car the 1er is staying with me. It's so well built I doubt any newer car will come close to it.

Hmm, agree on the whole, but both 1 series (E87 and E82) I've had have rattled and squeaked to high heavens. I've had to WD40 the armrest on both cars, and the E87 I had to perform a mod to the A pillar to stop that speaking every time I drove over an ant!

I'm hoping with a couple of suspension mods on the X1 I can stop a few squeaks and boaty feelings.

Apart form a noise in the bay I will pretty happy.

Agreed, apart from a few niggly issues here and there, they are solid cars.
