I've done just over 25k miles and my car is telling me its time for the brake fluid change during Feb. From reading the forum it seems to be around £80-90 mark. All other items on idrive aren't due to be changed for 10k+ miles. Oil and filters were done about a year ago.

As it's only the second time i'll have to take the vehicle in for servicing do you reckon BMW will try and bump "extras" on? Anything I should be wary off?

Thanks for your help

Brake fluid change for my car (E91) is only £62 at the main dealers.

BMW have a handy website that lists the costs of their fixed price serving.

All you do is enter your reg and vehicle mileage and it should give you the 'correct' price that the dealer should be charging for the work.

I am struggling to find any prices on that site you mentioned. I've put my vehicle reg and current mileage but I don't get anything to tell me the price, just get a message saying I don't have a service park.

I've tried using both firefox and safari browsers.

Hmm strange? It works fine for me, and my 2010 car also doesn't have the service pack!

Bit peeved at having to have the brake fluid changed now instead of when it gets the oil and filters changed. Seems a bit of a waste of time really. I'll only have had the vehicle 2 years in March/April this year. The oil was done Feb last year so won't need doing for another 12 months. Maybe I am cynical but it seems like a way to get to squeeze more money out of people on servicing. Every two years for a brake fluid change seems excessive too.

The warranty is up in early March too so do you think they'll do any sort of check before that runs out?

Works for me. Brake fluid £61.
