Hi

Reading my car manual (page 77) it says I can lift up the boot floor even though I have a 3rd row of seats.

The following link also details this:
" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I am aware of the small stowaway cover at the front of the boot (where the rolling parcel shelf can be stored) but nothing under the 3rd row of seats.

Does anyone know how to do this as I cannot figure it out. It would be cool to get this extra storage.

Thanks

I've got the 2 Active Tourer with floor storage however I'm wandering if you can only access on your vehicle when the third row of seats is raised especially as it's clearly indicated on the link which you supplied? Looking at the UK site it does clearly show but the third row of seats are folded down into the storage position " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; you can see this view when you change the prospective on the right of the screen.

Hi dorsetred.

Thanks for the reply. I actually took it to the dealer who could not figure this out either.

I took some photos as follows:

3rd row seating up " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

View of front storage compartment in boot " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

View with all seats folded " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

View underneath 3rd row seating from the rear " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

View underneath 3rd row seating from the front " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It looks like the 3rd row seating sits inside the boot floor space so would not be useable however my manual says different as per the following image " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thoughts please?

I've got to admit I'm more than a little puzzled as our boot floor in the car simply lifts up without any difficulties at all although as previously advised we don't have the third row of seats, looking at the photographs which you've posted more or less appears to be the same albeit a smaller area than ours which is to be expected.

I did note on the manual page "to lift boot floor, lift slightly and then push forward" supposedly with the seats up obviously a silly question but did you try this? Just had a look at our on-line manual and the details are much the same except your cover looks to be one section whereas ours is three enabling folding behind the rear seats.

Looks as if you'll need to try to lift and push slightly forward on the cover in case there's a slight indent preventing you from pulling the cover straight up if that doesn't work only option is unfortunately back to the dealer and get them to sort the issue out.

Sorry if my thoughts aren't much help but frankly I can't see why the cover shouldn't simply lift up and will look forward to your response on how the issue is resolved?

Bear in mind that it is entirely possible that it's just that the manual is wrong - I've found a few quite significant errors in the manual for my F20, describing features that don't actually work on my car (such as pulling both paddles to return to D from M).

No, it doesn't! That only works with the new HP50 version of the gearbox that is on the LCI diesels; it doesn't work with the older HP45 version that is fitted to the LCI petrols - but the manual for my petrol car claims it does.

...which has a diesel engine, and therefore as I said above, has the HP50 gearbox which has this feature. Petrol cars have an older model gearbox as they didn't get the new B series engines, and therefore do not have this feature.

Hi

Went to the dealership and saw the active tourer model on display which was very easy to fold up on the boot lid.

My dealer says the boot lid cannot be folded up with 3rd row seating. It is entirely possible there is an error on the manual but the statement is specific to 3rd row seating.

Normal you find manual errors on generic functions where someone has just copied and pasted without reading properly which is making me confused.

I have tried to fold up with the seats both up and down but there appears no obvious place to lift the floor and push from.

There doesn't appear to be many other gran tourer owners on this forum yet. Maybe as more appear they can shed some more light on this.

Thanks for all the help so far.
