Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know the policy or have any experience of part exchange valuations at BMW dealerships?
When I purchased my current car, the dealer (not BMW) was unable to provide a part exchange value for my old car more than 4 weeks into the future. So for cars which were factory orders, with a lead time of say 12 weeks, you could order the new one but they would not commit to a part exchange value until 4 weeks prior to delivery. This enabled them to provide a tempting part ex value 'now' to entice the order, but then left you taking a chance with the part ex value when you return nearer to delivery date, hoping they didn't screw you into the ground with the 'new' part ex price.
Obviously the part ex car will lose value between ordering and delivery, but do BMW dealers provide a definite part exchange valuation even on factory orders and give a definite "we will give you ÂŁxxx" when your car is ready in say 10-12 weeks time?
Thanks for your help!
Pete
