Hi Guys,
Just been out shopping with my wife and when we came back to the car the front passenger window had opened by itself all the way down :eek2: :eek2: and it was raining to add to my horror :x This has happened once or twice before on the other three windows, but I was blaming the missis :censored2: I have read on here that water can collect in the boot footwell and submerge an ECU. Is that the likely cause or are there any other common issues ? I need to sort this due to the rain we have been getting plus the security aspect obviously !!
Many thanks in advance for your help, Med Roberts.

That's very strange that only 1 window has dropped.. as you no once keys are taking out of slot all power to windows stops in 15 secs. Only other way is to hold the unlock button on fob but this drops all 4 windows. So if there was a short with this feature I would have thought it would drop all 4 windows. If you have a fault code reader scan your junction box control module for any faults as this is what controls all window and central locking functions.

Everybody, I think the ECU that I am thinking about is the PDC unit that can be submerged in water in the boot. But does this control the electric windows ? The PDC is working correctly.I have no code reader at the moment.

That unit is for your parking sensors are they working fine if so then carnt imagine been a fault with that. Plus there not directly connected to the windows motors but run into the junction box that also controls windows so any short could cause issues any were.

Ste, Parking sensors are working fine on the front and the rear. There are no lights on the dash that shouldn't be. The fault has only happened 3 to 4 times in 4 mnths   but because of the fault its a real pita. Anybody had anything similar :?
Thanks ,Med
