Wow, you must really love your car, as it’s had some serious maintenance and money spent on it. Great history and write up. I’m sure the maintenance knowledge you have will be invaluable to other members here, thanks for sharing 👍

Translation:

Neat car you have there mate, you rarely see it so beautifully maintained here in the Netherlands. I am also inspired to now look at serpentine belts and idler pulleys.
Hopefully this will run well over 400K!

I ordered used calipers from a 2006 520D E60

They are a little bigger and should fit the 16inch wheels as E60 520D came with 16inch.

so 310mm discs and pads will be fitted to have a try.

For 60euros shipped both lets have a try.

Meanwhile I got my 284mm set in. If the 310mm set wont fit I will return the discs and pads

So the distance between the brake holder bolts are 12cm and E60 is 13.5cm so I need also the hub this time.

With the E60 hubs it will be a lot more choices than E8X and E9X brake caliper choices and brake diameters for 16inch.

Brake pads are done they are cracked due maximum gross weight (1300kg + 1200kg + 600kg > 3100kg)

after 5.5yrs bought a rear shelf due missing

Got my brake discs and pads bedded in as per Zimmermann procedure:

Brakes much harder and not glazed now.
They are quiet no noise during braking as I used the low dust pads.
It does bite a lot harder compared to the old ones.
