Hi guys,
I was wondering if anyone has experienced audio crackle issues with their 1 series? About 6 months ago I purchased an M135i with the Harmon Kardon upgrade. Even since I picked it up audio will occasionally crackle (like a ticking sound) whilst listening to music from my iPhone via bluetooth or the USB to iPhone cable connection.
Interestingly, the issue isn't present when listening to DAB Radio, CD's, or music stored on a USB stick. So I thought it was my iPhone, however i've tried 4 different iPhones (on various iOS versions) and an iPad in the car which all exhibit the same issue. I've tested my phone in both a Ford Focus and Audi A1, neither of which exhibit the same problem.
So I took my car to the local dealer and after a week long investigation they said they could hear the distortion, but put it down to problems with the audio track which the 'higher fidelity' harmon kardon system showed up. The funny thing is, the loaner 118d with standard audio also had the same problem.
I'm starting to think that either the bluetooth module or DAC inside my car is faulty. Has anyone got some advice regarding this?
Many Thanks,
Will
