Hello all,

Just ordered a m135i, have a short list of must have mods i want straight away. Its my first BMW so not very clued up on which manufactures are best for mods etc. New to the german scene!!

So im after the following
- Black grills
- plug in box (370/380bhp?)
- best lowering springs (H&R/Eibech?)
- spacers, not sure what size is best (10/12/15mm?)
- also iv seen a front splitter on a few m135i's.. Im interested in this also.

Any advice and recommendations to shop would be great.

Thanks in advance, Piers.

Black grilles - bmw, Mstyle or ebay etc

TMC box sounds best for yourself if your not interested in further power increases

H&R drop a tad lower than eibach so personal preference. Ebay.de you will find them cheaper and no import tax

I ran 12mm spacers all round with standard wheels as do a few others. Looked spot on. We got ours off ebay. I'd recommend a proper make such as eibach or h&r.

the splitters most of us have are from GazP a member on here so could give him a message :)

Good luck as it won't just end there :lol2: £££££££

How did you get on with the 436m's and spacers compared to the CH-R's?

Not sure if it was you or another member but somone had issues with wheel wobble on spacers (I'm assuming they weren't Eibach or H&R)

I've decided on sticking with 18's and in two minds of an OEM plus look (436m on spacers or a bigger offset BMW wheel) Vs BBS CH-R's

Was me but going I the fact numerous users have the same without issue I'm guessing it was a wheel balancing issue. That or other users haven't been above 140mph.

I'd steer clear of front wheel spacers if possible, messes up your scrub radius. A better option is a wider wheel with a similar offset to OEM.

Spacing the rears is fine, but adding grip to just the rear axle can induce even more understeer than you've already got.

Eibach springs are perfect for an Auto, but can end up looking a little raked on Man-box M-Lites. H&R's will slam the car right down into the bumpstops, which can lead to a jarring ride - if you're concerned about NVH.

Maybe yes if using H&R super sports

Not so - if using H&R sport springs - I know I had them on my adaptive damped 5dr - superb.

Was gonna say I don't think mine are on the bumpstops as I find the ride perfect? Maybe under extreme compression on the carousel it was a bit bouncy but otherwise seems OK? Don't know.

I'd say for suspension get a bilstein b12 kit or a birds b1 (I think it's called) kit as it's the dampers that seem to be the shortfall. Springs do help though for a small cost.

Turn a front wheel to full lock, pull up the black concertina around the strut, and tell me how much shiny piston rod you can see please Dan?

Take a photo if you can?

Too low, even on full lock? Can't get your hand in there?

Go on, persevere, we all want to see! :lol2:

Is it worth suggesting that you live with the car for a while before spending money on 'upgrades'? You might even find 330bhp in a light-ish rwd hatchback is enough....
