Back to map 6

Having been in map 1 predominantly over the last few months with ho hum roads and weather - took the long way into work this morning with map 6 on some wind dried roads.

Forgotten what a properly sorted absolute map does to the car - bliss. Sweet throttle response and more ooomph everywhere.

Whilst at HW mini meet this weekend, I took Ajay out for a ride so as he could sample the B1 springs/ARB's on my adaptive car. I think he liked it, even in sport mode. He also wanted to know what JB4 was like so demo was in map 5, from right turn exit off a roundabout, up a hill in 5th gear - from 30mph to go to oh-la-la in no time.

From this mornings return to map 6, methinks it would have been even more impressive......

I just leave mine in map 6 all the time!

Once the dry weather kicks in, then I'll have a go at map 5 etc. Bet it felt great though going from map 1

Map 6 being the custom set map?
Yes and in my case had it fettled on a RR by BW Chiptune. Maybe not the cheapest but as with most things you get what you pay for.
Need to finalize my map 6, smooth it out a little but still waiting on HJS sport cat so pointless tinkering yet.

We have had a terrible run of wet weather, abnormal amounts of rain up in the North for us, floods its going to be a welcome summer with JB4 when it all dries out. :lol2:
Damn you and your fully working cars :lol2:

Thanks again for that Dave, I absolutely loved it.

The ride, handling and of course the hill climb test  left me speechless!!
I can really see how a good base car can become 100 times better and still tick all the day to day tasks!

There I was after the while spring experiance thinking, best to keep the car standard -

Hoping to do the same with mine at badger 5. Will pop it on the rollers and play around with the settings. These intake kits are pretty costly! Going to make one for a lot less than these kits on the interweb!

They don't offer any performance gain either! That's been tested and shown on cars with stage 2 turbo upgrades. Of course if it's extra induction noise your after then I understand

It's on my list of 'to dos' as well for when ever I get my hi flow inlet fitted.
Dale,

Tell me more about your hi flo inlet.

All,

Forgot to mention another benefit of flipping back to map 6 - the car definitely sounds better, MPE note is more naughty, knarly....

Agree 100% with the exhaust note change, I love the sound of the exhaust when running a higher boost map. You can't beat map 6 and its consistency

It's the pure hi flow inlet. Just a hard metal pipe that replaces the majorly kinked oem part. We can run mafless with the jb4 now so a few angled silicon hoses and joiners with a nice filter on the end of it should provide the least restriction short of no filter at all.

Had to run down to Sussex to pickup a piece of furniture for my wife (bloody ebay) after work.

Dry A&B roads, map 6, sport +, TC off, sunroof open and rear seats down.

Sounded furkng immense, no chore at all......
Yep agree, map 6 for the win!

Sounds like a great excuse for a blast Dave! I'm really looking forward to the fine weather so I can get out and drive....these last few months have been torture.
Yes v glad I had some straps to tie down the wife's 'cargo' !

Lots of brownie points earned with SWMBO - just as well as one or 2 days out planned involving cars or M'bikes that she's yet to see on the fridge calendar......
Haha you've done your good deed now she must repay in kindness
