The following is a list of basic rules and guidelines about what is and is not allowed while posting on BabyBMW. These rules are in addition to what is listed in our Terms Of Use. Please read through all of these sections before using our site and contact us if you have any questions.

1. Accounts
You may only have one account on this forum. No exceptions. If you have issues with your account or need help changing your username, password, email, etc. you can post for help or contact us. Many helpful topics can be found in the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section.

2. Restricted Functions
To protect our members from malicious activity, some forum functionality, such as starting conversations or posting in the Classifieds section, is not available until your account has reached a minimum age and/or post count. Making low-effort contributions to artificially increase ('bump up') your post count and meet these requirements will result in the posts being deleted and a warning being issued. Further violations will result in additional action, including having your access to such functionality, regardless of account age or post count, temporarily or permanently withdrawn.

3. Etiquette
Users are asked to follow good forum etiquette and avoid behaviours which negatively affect the quality of the discussion. Some examples of poor forum etiquette are:
  • Posting in the wrong section
  • Double/multiple posting, including across different sections of the forum
  • Reviving long-inactive threads without good reason
  • Hijacking or derailing threads
  • Quoting large blocks of content
  • Posting useless or unhelpful replies (particularly when leaving a reaction would have achieved the same result)
  • Posting off-topic content in on-topic sections of the forum
  • Formatting content in a manner which impacts the usability of the forum for others, such as with undue line spacing, excessive use of emojis/smileys, or writing with disruptive typesetting in part, particularly when this is done within a signature.

4. Conduct
Users shall treat each other with respect at all times on BabyBMW. Ideas and opinions may be challenged, but insults, personal attacks, and other similar inappropriate behaviour may result in action up to and including a permanent ban. In particular, the following behaviours will result in action being taken immediately and without warning:
  • 4.1. Harassment, including repeated unsolicited or unwanted contact with, or content directly or indirectly targeted at, another individual or group of individuals.
  • 4.2. Trolling, including the posting of inflammatory, irrelevant, insincere, digressive or offensive comments, or any other such content which provokes or disrupts any part of the community.
  • 4.3. Discrimination of any kind, including the posting of degrading and/or offensive remarks about an individual or a group of individuals based on their race, colour, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, age, nationality, religious affiliation, political beliefs, or any other characteristic or lack thereof.
  • 4.4 Disclosing private information about members without their consent (e.g., names, contact details, pictures, details about personal life, etc. – this includes in private messages, Facebook, email, and social media in part).
  • 4.5 Conveying information outside the audience with which it was originally shared (e.g. within private conversation or within a non-public section of the forum), without the consent of involved parties.

5. Adult Material
Adult-rated material, full or partial nudity, and sexual content is not permitted on BabyBMW in any form whatsoever, including text, images, or links.

6. Language
Offensive language and profanity shall be kept to a minimum. Please help us keep the community friendly and welcoming to all.

7. Political Discussion
General political discussion, as well as unsolicited or unwarranted political commenting, is not permitted anywhere on BabyBMW. Political discussion that is specifically relevant to the forum may take place, but will be moderated strictly.

8. Profiles
Member profiles, including signatures, must comply with the Community Rules in all aspects. BabyBMW staff reserve the right to delete or edit members' profile content at any time.

9. Copyright
You may only post material and content that you own. Posting copyrighted or trademarked material in a manner that infringes upon the rightsholder, or any other violation of the DMCA, EUCD or other applicable local intellectual property legislation, is not permitted.

10. Commercial Activity
Commercial activity, meaning advertising, recommending, referencing, mentioning, promoting, engaging with our membership from a commercial perspective or in any other way acting in the interest of a business or non-profit to which you are connected, anywhere on the forum, including in usernames, personal profile fields and signatures, is only allowed on babybmw.net under specific conditions:
  • 10.1. You are an Approved Vendor, posting in the appropriate section(s) of the community in compliance with the Business Terms of Service.
  • 10.2. You are selling your personal property and posting in the Classifieds section, in compliance with the specific rules for that section.

11. Vendor Sections
Vendor Sections are granted to certain Approved Vendors as a benefit of their continued support. Vendors may use these sections as they see fit and moderate them at their discretion, within the scope of the Vendor Rules and Best Practices. Members should not use Vendor Sections for general discussion, or for any activity which is against the interests of the Vendor. If you have any concerns about the conduct or moderation actions of a Vendor within their own section, please raise these concerns with a member of staff in private Conversation.

12. Classifieds
Use of the Classifieds section is subject to the following rules:
  • 12.1. All classified sale posts must include a description, price, approximate location (i.e., 'London, UK' or 'Houston, TX'), and a photo of the item(s) for sale containing your username and the date. This timestamp must be visible in the original, unedited photo, i.e., written on a piece of paper next to the items.
  • 12.2. Buyers and sellers must satisfy themselves as to the legitimacy of any transaction. Scammers do operate online, and BabyBMW cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage incurred as a result of any interaction from a classified sale post. If you have any concerns about the behaviour of a buyer or seller, please use the report function on their post/message to bring this to the attention of forum staff.
  • 12.3. Marketplace Ratings (reviews) must be objectively true, accurate, honest, and compliant with the Community Rules relating to user conduct. Reviews which do not adhere to this rule should be reported to forum staff for moderation, whereupon they may be edited or deleted, and further action may be taken at staff discretion. Simple disagreement, such as one party being unhappy with a rating which the other party has clearly explained and/or evidenced, is not grounds for an otherwise compliant review or rating to be moderated.
  • 12.4. When a sale is completed, please use the “Mark as Sold” button (on Marketplace posts) or edit the title to begin with the word “SOLD” to make it clear to others the item is no longer available.
  • 12.5. Do not delete, edit or overwrite the title or content of sale posts to remove item details or pricing information. This information helps other forum members to price their items, as well as evaluate other similar items for sale.
  • 12.6. Posts in the "eBay Adverts" subforum must clearly state whether the linked advert is in any way connected to the poster.
  • 12.6. BabyBMW is, above all, a discussion forum. On-topic discussion may take place in the Classifieds, including fair and reasonable criticism of elements of a For Sale or Wanted post such as price, condition, or description.

13. Enforcement
Attempting to circumvent or undermine the Community Rules, or any action taken to enforce them, will result in more severe action being taken. In particular:
  • 13.1. Posting on behalf of a banned user may result in a ban for the poster who is conveying the message, and an increase in the ban length for the poster who is sending the message.
  • 13.2. Restoring or reposting content that has been edited or deleted by a staff member will result in a ban being issued.

14. Staff Discretion
The BabyBMW staff reserve the right to take action, proactive or reactive, against any user or their content to uphold these rules and preserve the quality of the forum. This may include moving, editing, closing or deleting posts, and issuing warnings and/or bans. The determination of what is rule-breaking is at the sole discretion of the staff member at the time of their decision. In the event of a disagreement or questioning of a staff members' decision or action, users should contact the moderator or administrator via private conversation. Users shall not question or debate the decision publicly on the message board.

Any violation of these rules will result in an infraction up to and including a permanent ban. Please help us keep this site user-friendly and report any instances of rule violations. These rules may be altered at any time without notice, so please check this page often. Thanks.
