I've ordered my new F20 with automatic, but I'm thinking of if I should have gone for the sport auto.
I've currently got a standard auto and really like it.

Any advice?

Ps, also thinking of splashing out on the HK

What engine have you got? I had a 116d auto without sports auto and didn't really miss it. I enjoy paddles more now with spirited driving sessions but they're few and far between as I'm mostly on a motorway.

But, the sports auto is a small premium on top of the auto so might be worth having.

I've currently got a 118d and I've ordered a 120d.
I don't use the manual change much, only when I want to hold it in a lower gear ready for an overtake and its been ok, hence why I ordered another one.
Wife has paddles in her Mini Paceman and loves them.

Is the launch control any good, or just a gimmick on a 120?
Used it once on my 225d, was quite good fun but I image heavy on tyre wear and not recommended to be used too often as it puts a strain on the car.

I know someone with a modded TT RS who killed their drive shaft using launch.

May as well have the sports auto for the small charge, and yes HK is something I would always add if it's not too late

I've got sports auto and after playing with the paddles for the first few days I decided they were a gimmick and I didn't use them for a few months..... then for some reason I decided to try driving the car in proper manual mode (I.e moving the stick to the left so that it doesn't override your gear selection after a while).

I find the car much more enjoyable in full manual mode using the paddles. It feels much quicker holding on to gears and using the engines torque rather than having the auto shuffle up really early.

So after initially not using the paddles, I now use them every day and would thoroughly recommend them for the small additional outlay.

Pretty much only use mine in manual with the paddles. Recently had a great drive around the Brecon Beacons and really enjoyed driving fast with them as you can keep both hands on the wheel in the correct position. Deffo to HK as well.
