Is that even possible in an E87? Wouldnt it need some kind of radar(?) sensor fitting? Sorry I cant actually help, but would be interested if anyone else has a clue...my curiosity has been piqued.

My cruise control does not have braking function so it does pick up speed when down a slope. The 544 cruise option is the standard cc with braking function (called dynamic cruise i believe?) which just brakes when picking up speed, it does not use a radar to keep a specific distance from a car.

That radar cruise option is called active cruise control which is 541.

A member on 1addicts has successfully changed from 540 to 544 in a 2008 E82 135i (code KOMBI and DSC with 544 and remove 540, change KOMBI ACC_AUSSTATTUNG wert_03) but with a problem: Lost the temporary cruise speed display and is not reversible.
Here is the link:
My car originally did not have the cruise speed display until I coded the kombi TEMPOMAT_SETZ_ANZ_DAUER to wert_02.

Has anyone done this change in a older car like my 2006 E87 and was there be any issues? (like the loss of speed display and irreversible?)

Just a fyi on what I found investigating this.

Found an interesting pdf on the dsc units in the 4cyl and in the 6cyl E90s.

DSC units in the 6cyl e90s have adaptive cruise control functions and additional features: comfort stop, start assist and ECBA.

My 130i e87 appears to have the same or similar 6cyl DSC as it definitely has comfort stop, start assist and ECBA function in NCSexpert.

Unfortunately, my original prelci 2006 DSC does not have options for dynamic cruise (DCC?) in NCSexpert. But looking in NCSDummy, DCC functions are available in the updated DSCs. So the 6 cyl e81, e82, e87n e88 may have the DCC function in their DSC unit.

But since the e8x 1 series never had 544 as an option, the kombi is not designed for dynamic or adaptive cruise because it lacks the cruise speed display for it.

So the dynamic cruise option would be possible in the facelift 1 series DSC (as seen working in the e82) but it will lack the DCC functions in the kombi.

Yeah ive been told the e90 6cyl kombi could work in the 1 series but they are physically too different to fit nicely.
It looks like coding the dsc for DCC 544 and changing the Kombi ACC_AUSSTATTUNG to wert_03 will get DCC working without the cruise ring indicator though.

Currently my DSC uses MK60_87.C07 daten which does not have any DCC lines in the FSW_PSW.trc. But looking at the MK60_87.C08 daten in NCSdummy, it does have DCC lines (eg. C08_ECBA_DCC).

So i wonder if I flash my DSC to the newest ZUSB that it will use MK60_87.C08 with DCC capabilities? I need to work up the courage to flash my DSC to find out
