My car is insured via BMW and I just called them about wheel change and have been told as long as the rolling radious is kept the same and the wheels fitted by a professional company there is no admin or insurance charge I just need to call ad update them (when I'm swapping from summer to winter wheels)

Has anyone had the same experience as I fully expected a charge?

Know I'm thinking as I'm fitting 18x 8 BBS and moving over the MPSS wouldn't the front due to width change be ever so slightly off on rolling radious?

I'm with BMW insurance and have found as long as you tell them what your doing, withing reason, no charge. For example my m performance grilles made no difference. When i swapped my plate over, again no admin charge.

Quite honestly I found the quote for insurance from BMW laughable.
In fact the where £1000 more expensive. And their cover was less detailed than my current policy.

Interesting, they were about £50 / year more than the cheapest online comparison website quote. It must be an age thing :)

For us (my wife insures the car as I have a commercial policy) it's was £90 a year more then the cheapest online (compared) but they did it interest free over 10 months and covered our current policy cancellation charge

Just got a quote for £339 with JB4 + BCS.

I'm 25... :eek2:

It's admiral though, but I think I'm ok going with them.

Another vote to avoid them (Admiral) like the plague.

Changed cars, messed that up. Twice.

Changed address, messed that up. 3 times.

Added wife's car to multicar, messed that up.

Decided that being born in another country and moving here when I was 12 made me 50 quid a year more of a risk, but only after having the policy 4 months.

Kept an old car on the policy when explicitly told that we had traded it in.

Wrong at home address, twice.

Apart from that, very apologetic call centre staff. Never again though.

BMW were 50% more expensive with considerably higher excess. I need business use and Star Trek mileage allowance.

Went with Admiral (again) having learned not to put any of our other cars on their MultiCar Policy which is where things go wrong. Do get free (full) European Insurance cover.

I agree that Admiral don't have the best customer services. For example, I spoke to them on three different occasions and each time I got a different quote as they could not find the original each time.
However, dispute the pain of it they did come back with a good deal. My M135i and my other half's Audi A1 Sport( with business mileage for her). All for £650, which I think is a good price.

So if you can stomach the long conversation with them it's worth it.
