Howdy All
I am getting the light bulb error when starting up, and checking my lights and it seem that I have a set (Side) of Angle Lights out (Is that what you call them?).
Is it common for these to fail?
Are they easy to replace?
Do you think these would be covered under warranty?

Lots of questions I know

Many thanks for any help.

I think it's a pretty basic bulb change to fix it.. BUT .. it's a custom part.
Have to enquire at your dealer about how much a replacement OEM bulb would cost - can imagine it would be pricey itself though as it has a custom housing etc.
Sites like Umnitza(?) sell LED replacement bulbs for a shocking high price.

Edit:

The little bulb marked 12 is the angel eye bulb as far as I can tell. Maybe it is just a regular bulb plugged into a custom housing? Sorry, I don't have Xenons to check it out :)

Just lost one of them. 30 months old car. It is standard socket 12V 1W bulb. No fancy stuff there. A bit tricky to replace the housing after removing but not impossible.

I spoke to the dealer BS, and there was no talk of replacing FOC, $80.00 for the part and I think they might fit for nothing.
I took the rear cover of the light yesterday, but I could not see anything and it all looks to difficult (maybe more like I am lazy  )
I think I will get the dealer to fit to save me the F*&*ing around.

Thanks for everyones comments.

Please follow excellent instructions from 130girl in this thread:

pictures can be used to understand the position of the light unit. Once you have removed the light unit then you can replace the bulb in it, it is standard 12V 10W (NOT 1W like I said before, that was a typo) Philips bulb. I bought it today from generic auto parts shop for about EUR 2.50.

One note - although 130girl says that you should take off the Xenons cover to access the angel eyes light unit it is not necessarily true. I managed to remove and refit the light unit once without removing the Xenons cover. Today I got frustrated before being able to refit the unit blindly and took off the large cover, it helps a bit. Refitting is a bit tricky in any case.

So, EUR 2.50 worth of parts and 5min worth of fiddling around.

Thanks Martini, and of course thanks to 130girl for the excellent instruction.
I will have a look, now I know where to look.

FYI, went to the local Repco none in stock  so I thought I would try the dealer again, now I know what the part is.
$76.00 they don't sell the bulb on it's own, must come with the fitting and O'Ring WTF.

So I guess I will try a couple of other non-genuine suppliers.

It is the proper bulb indeed. Today I did the operation myself, thanks to Martini and 130girl for instructions. It wasn't difficult but it is quite tricky operation, especially the refitting part. Took me a good while, but next time the bulb changing operation won't take that long. I think I'm going for the Umnitza angel eyes soon anyway.. :)

So the standard angel eyes bulb is a minihalogen with a Ba9s socket, 12V 10W Philips 12082 (original) or Osram 64113, like this one:

I probably could have got away with replacing just the bulb.
I bought the whole thing with the holder and cost just under £22
Look at my thread on
It looks like this
