I see that swapping from an 88Y to a 92Y is recommended (at tyre replacement time) to reduce shoulder wear on the fronts. Is it also recommended for the rears or do should they stay as an 88Y?

I'm guessing fronts will go first so i'd have to put 92Y at the front first and then wait for the rears to go which would mean running different load ratings front to back.

That's correct... They are 92y's o the rear as standerd and 88's on the front.

I moved to 92y's all round, much better and no shoulder wear so far.

I'm using 93y up front and 96y rears and don't find them harsh and on coilovers ( e82 model)

Rears should be 92Y as stock? It should only have floppy fronts on?
I assumed they were 88Y on the rear as well although I never bothered checking lol.

Sorry to dig up such an old thread but Marco to the rescue again. I wasn't sure if they should be the same all round.

Tyres need replacement and currently have 88Y front / 92Y rear but me thinking I know best thought it should be same all round. Glad google brought me back here!

92 all round is the best option, if you're buying 4 new tyres.
