Hey,

Long story short, i've got a set of 405's with Dunlop SP Sport Maxx (Non Run Flat!) tyres fitted, and about 3000 miles on them. Last year I got a puncture that wrote the back left tyre off, so I got Platinum Alloy repairs in Swindon to fit my a new tyre, and then retired the wheels for the Winter. I didn't realise at the time that they'd fitted the Run Flat version of the Dunlop SP Sport Maxx, apparently this is all that's now available.

I Spent all day yesterday trying to source a Non Run Flat Dunlop SP Sport Maxx, but apparently they don't exist anymore.

I don't feel comfortable running a Run Flat on the back right, and a Non Run flat on the back left (not to mention they tyre overhang is different, and the sidewalls look different), and I wanted to avoid run flats altogether really, as on the 19's i'm concerned the ride will be too harsh.

So, what are people using as a Non Run flat option on their 405's and other 19" wheels of 245/30/ZR19 flavour? I'm happy, well, not happy, but accepting of changing both rears and selling the tyres that come off, a brand new Dunlop Run Flat and a good condition Non Run Flat.

Cheers!

Dave

I can't help you with the 19's, not my thing at all.

You're absolutely right not to mix a proper tyre and a Runcrap on the same axle though, occasionally insurance companies have void policies regarding mixing tyre types.
